Client Stories
William “Bill” and Michele “Mickey” French are a married couple living in Omaha, Nebraska
. In 2018, Bill retired from his long-time career as director of food and beverage for the gaming and hospitality industries, which took him around the country from Council Bluffs, lowa to Biloxi, Mississippi. Mickey worked as an occupational therapist specializing in neurological rehabilitation until her retirement in 2024.
In late 2018, with Bill recently retired, the couple was looking to streamline and simplify their financial picture. Mickey intended to work for another six years, so they needed a transitional plan to ensure they would have sufficient income to sustain their preferred lifestyle through retirement. Bill and Mickey had already amassed a significant and diversified retirement portfolio consisting of traditional and Roth IRAS, 401(k)s, and 403(b) accounts. Mickey was also eligible for a pension upon retirement. Of utmost concern to the couple was ensuring that all financial decisions would be taxefficient in order to preserve their hard-earned nest egg for the future.
